FAQ

What are the Freeride Days Engelberg?

The Freeride Days Engelberg are a multi-day event aimed at freeriders and ski tourers of all skill levels. In addition to the opportunity to test the latest equipment, the event offers various workshops led by experienced guides and professionals. Participants have the chance to improve their skills, learn new techniques and exchange ideas with like-minded people.

Are the workshops in German and English?

Of course, all our mountain guides speak German, English and some even Swedish. Only French is a bit tricky...

Our English may not be 100% perfect, but we are real pros at guiding and teaching in English. And hey, if a joke gets lost, we just blame it on the language barrier - after all, laughter is international! 😄

When are the advantages of the Freeride Days Engelberg?

The Freeride Days Engelberg will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. This time of year in Engelberg is known for its snow reliability and often offers excellent deep snow, creating ideal conditions for freeride and ski touring enthusiasts. In addition, March offers the unique opportunity for some brands to present their models for the next season.

Can I take part in the workshops with the test material?

It is better if you come with your own equipment. You can test skis, even for the workshops. However, there are no skins available for the skis. You must bring your own ski boots and safety equipment.

I don't have all the material, can I rent material from you?

Don't you have any equipment? Yes, you can hire it from us on request.

How much does the material testcost?

In our test village on the Titlis, leading ski brands present their latest models of freeride, all-mountain and touring skis for the current and upcoming season. Brands such as Armada, Blizzard/Tecnica, DPS and many more present their skis, boots, bindings and snow safety equipment.

How much does an Explore! - Workshop cost?

We spare no effort to offer you a special experience, but we still want to do this at a fair price. Accordingly, it will cost you:
One day guiding or course: 190.- CHF

  • Various courses include a Test! ticket is included.
  • Please bring your own skis.
  • It would be unfair to the testers if certain skis are gone for days.

Can I also take part as a snowboarder?

Yes, if you have a splitboard, that's a good idea. We will form a separate boarder group if possible. (if enough people are interested). The ski technique part can only be adapted to the snowboard technique if there are enough snowboarders (separate group). Otherwise you can take part in the same program as a boarder.

How are the groups put together?

When forming groups for workshops and tours, we take your ability and experience into account. The aim is to create homogeneous groups in which all participants have similar requirements and goals. This ensures an optimal and safe learning experience. Attention is also paid to skiing or snowboarding preferences and language skills in order to facilitate communication within the group.

What happens in bad weather?

Your safety comes first. In the event of bad weather, such as heavy snowfall, poor visibility or high avalanche risk, the workshops will be adjusted accordingly. This may mean relocation to another area in the Engelberg Valley or a change to the program.

If the event cannot take place due to weather conditions, you will be informed in good time.
