Salomon makes outstanding products in trail running, they have great credibility in snowboarding.Cross-country skiing, freeriding, alpine skiing, ski touring and outdoor are on top of that. It's easy to forget where Salomon actually comes from: alpine ski bindings!
Georges Salomon developed the first "modern" ski binding in Annecy in 1957. It was called "Le Lift" and consisted of a toe piece that could release the boot sideways.A revolution. The legendary S505, the first binding with a heel step-in, was launched in 1960. It was only a small step from the S505 to the current STH.
Georges Salomon also soon developed a boot that was compatible with his bindings.Skis were added a little later.
It should not be forgotten that Salomon built what was probably the first twin tip in 1997 with the "1080".JP Auclair made his first Mute Grab with these skis.
Salomon has remained very innovative to this day. Especially in the area where they come from.Bindings, boots, skis.
Be sure to check out their new MTN collection.A unit consisting of skis, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles, etc. There is also a great sustainability story behind the new MTN line.
