TIGHT! – Adventure Ski Tour El Canal del Emperador 🧗♂️❄️
The name says it all: “The Emperor’s Couloir” – the north couloir of the Chaiserstuel. 400 vertical meters of pure adventure in terrain that looks like it was taken straight out of the Dolomites. A true highlight in the Engelberg valley!
We’ll guide you through this special line – a mix of ski touring, climbing feel, and wild descent. Perfect for anyone who loves couloirs and craves a solid shot of adrenaline.
What to expect:
Chaiserstuel tour with a spicy twist:
We meet at the Bannalpbahn valley station. After a short welcome, gear check & briefing, we take the cable car up. A straightforward skin brings us to the Chaiserstuel summit (about 90 min). But that’s just the warm-up…
Rappelling into the Emperador:
After a short descent, we reach an exposed ledge. Crampons and ice axe on – then we rappel 60 meters down into the couloir system. Steep, slightly overhanging, and absolutely breathtaking!
Couloir skiing at its finest:
A short climb leads us into the main couloir: “El Canal del Emperador”. It starts at about 45° and eases off gradually. The descent? One to remember. And once we're down? Ski out to Oberrickenbach or the Spies lift – and wrap it up with a well-earned beer 🍻.
Price:
CHF 230.– / person
